Ciencia en Desarrollo (abbreviated as Cienc en Desarro.) is a Journal edited by Research and Extension Center of Sciences Faculty of the Universidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombia. This journal is an open Access Multidisciplinary Journal which publishes research articles in the field of basic sciences. The principal fields are related with: Biology-ecology, enviromental, materials and energy, foods, biotechnology, theoretical and experimental physics, statistical and mathematic models of direct interest and impact in the basic sciences. 

Ciencia en Desarrollo is submitted through a double-blind review from judges of all received articles written in Spanish and also in English.

Ciencia en Desarrollo publishes two issues every year.
