La escasa vegetación arbórea y la</div><div>presencia de edificaciones en los predios de la Universidad</div><div>Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombia (UPTC) sede Tunja,</div><div><div>trae consigo la reducción en la calidad del aire. Por tal</div><div>razón fue utilizada la flora liquénica de las zonas verdes de</div><div>la UPTC como indicadora de contaminación atmosférica. El</div><div>IPA (Índice de Pureza Atmosférica) se determinó a partir de</div><div>las coberturas de once especies de líquenes encontradas</div><div>en 36 forofitos, de nueve estaciones, representadas en un</div><div>mapa de isocontaminación. Las especies representativas por</div><div>cobertura son Heterodermia albicans (69201cm2), presentes</div><div>en las zonas que se hallan expuestas a vías, por el contrario,</div><div>la especie con menor cobertura es Teloschistes flavicans</div><div>(29cm2). El IPA mostró que la estación tres fue la menos</div><div>contaminada (44.29) y la estación ocho la más contaminada</div><div>(27.29). Estos datos permiten demostrar que debido a</div><div>las recientes construcciones aún no se ha fortalecido la</div><div>vegetación liquénica, además la baja diversidad de forofitos</div><div>no permite el crecimiento de los líquenes. Los resultados</div><div>muestran que el campus universitario de la UPTC está</div><div>altamente contaminado debido a la falta de árboles que</div><div>flanqueen el impacto de los contaminantes.<br /><br /></div></div><div><div><strong>Palabras clave:</strong> Cobertura, forofito, liquen, contaminación</div><div>aérea, pureza atmosférica.</div></div><div><div><br /><strong>Abstract</strong></div><div>The vegetation constitutes barriers against the gas emitions</div><div>and polluting sources promoted by the human activity. The</div><div>limited tree vegetation and presence of buildings on the campus of Universidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombia (UPTC), Tunja headquarters, brings with it a reduction in the quality of the air. For this reason was used the lichenical flora in green areas of the UPTC, as indicator of air pollution. IAP (Index of Atmospheric Purity) was determined from the coverage of eleven species of Lichen found in 36 phorophytes (trees) of nine stations, represented on a map of isocontamination. The representative species for coverage are: Heterodermia albicans (67243cm2), present in areas that are exposed to roads, otherwise, the species with lower coverage are Teloschistes flavicans (29cm2). The IPA indicated that station three was the least polluted (44.29) and the most polluted station was the eight with (27.29). These data demonstrate that due to the recent constructions the lichenical vegetation has not strengthened yet, further, the low phorophytes diversity does not allow the growth of lichens. The result shows that UPTC campus is highly polluted, due to the lack of trees that flank the pollutants impact.</div><div><br /><strong>Key words:</strong> Covering, phorophytes (trees), Lichen, air  contamination, atmospheric purity.</div></div><div> </div><div> </div>}, number={2}, journal={Ciencia en Desarrollo}, author={Carlos Nelson Díaz Pérez, Diego Fernando Simijaca Salcedo, María Eugenia Morales Puentes,}, year={2012}, month={jul.}, pages={69–88} }
