Se presentan los antecedentes conceptuales (referentes) de ambos discursos, destacando la fusión que hace Fernández de Sotomayor de las ideas de la ilustración y de la escolástica humanista española. <br /><br /><strong>Palabras clave:</strong>  Discurso, Independencia americana, Mitos, Religión, Historiografía, Clonia española, Conquista española.  <br /><br /><strong>Abstract</strong><br />It analyses from the historical perspective and with the support of the social linguistics, the Spaniard mythic legacy and the answer given by the creoles during the independence process (the beginning of the XVIII century). For that purpose were chosen the writings of<br />Antonio León, a Spanish cleric, and Juan Fernández de Sotomayor, Colombian priest and bishop, in order to compare them and extract the main analysis and historiography categories, in favor or against the independence.
