Ciencia en Desarrollo is a Journal edited by Research and Extension Center of Sciences Faculty of the Pedagogical and Technological University of Colombia, its an open Access Journal which publishes research articles in the field of basic sciences; this includes researches related with: Biology-ecology, enviromental, materials and energy, foods, biotechnology, theoretical and experimental physics, statistical and mathematic models of direct interest and impact in the basic sciences. Ciencia en Desarrollo is submitted through a double-blind review from judges of all received articles written in Spanish and also in English.

Ciencia en Desarrollo publishes two issues every year.
