Diseño de estructuras de pavimentos en afirmado
Abstract
Se presenta una metodología para diseñar estructurasde pavimentos cuya capa de rodadura esté compuesta
por material de afirmado en su totalidad,
entendiéndose este como una capa de material
granular destinada a soportar las cargas del tránsito.
La metodología se fundamenta en los mismos
principios y conceptos tenidos en cuenta para el
diseño de las estructuras de pavimento flexible, y en
especial en la metodología de la AASHTO [1]. La
metodología desarrollada permite a los ingenieros
de carreteras diseñar de manera técnica y rápida el
espesor de una capa de afirmado, teniendo en cuenta
la resistencia de la subrasante y el tránsito estimado
para un periodo de diseño.
