El artículo se basa en los resultados del proyecto investigativo de tipo descriptivo intitulado “El apodo en Tunja: un estudiomorfosemántico de esta realidad lingüística”. Contiene las características del apodo y los aspectos más destacados de la motivación morfosemántica. El principal objeto de este
estudio es la palabra, su significado y estructura, para analizar el sistema de reglas que la componen.

This text is based on the results of the project “The nickname in Tunja: a morphosemant ic study of this l inguist ic
real i ty ”, which shows the nickname characteristics and the most important theoretical aspects of the morphose-mantic motivation. The main objective is to study the word, its meaning and structure in order to analyze the system’s rules that integrate it.
