Los conceptos de “valor” y “sociedad ruda y primitiva” en la obra de Adam Smith

Resumen
El trabajo tiene dos objetivos principales. En primer lugar, sintetizar los debates recientes de la historiografía del pensamiento económico acerca de las nociones de “valor” y “sociedad ruda y primitiva” en La riqueza de las naciones. En segundo lugar, proponer una reinterpretación del papel que le asigna Adam Smith a estas dos nociones. Se espera demostrar dos hipótesis de investigación: 1) que la mayor parte de los historiadores del pensamiento económico interpretaron que el ejemplo smithiano de cómo rige la ley del valor en una “sociedad ruda y primitiva” no constituyó un aporte a la economía política, porque nada puede decir sobre el concepto de valor en la sociedad capitalista, pues en esa sociedad no tiene “realidad empírica”; 2) que si se desarrolla la dimensión filosófica de la economía política smithiana, la “sociedad ruda y primitiva” puede ser entendida como una ficción teórica que colabora en el intento smithiano de forjar una ley del valor de alcance universal.
