Efecto del calcio y el ácido giberélico (AG3) sobre el crecimiento y la producción de lechuga (Lactuca sativa L.) cv. Batavia

Abstract

La  lechuga es una de  las hortalizas más cultivadas y consumidas en el país,  sin embargo,  los rendimientos
obtenidos por unidad de área están por debajo de lo esperado. Con la aplicación de calcio y ácido giberélico (AG) es posible aumentar  la productividad de este cultivo. El objetivo de esta investigación fue evaluar el efecto de diferentes dosis de calcio (30, 60 y 90 kg ha-1  de CaO) y ácido giberélico (0, 50, 100 y 150 mg L-1  de AG3 ) sobre el crecimiento y la producción de lechuga cv Batavia, utilizando un diseño completamente al azar. El 50% del calcio  se aplicó en presiembra, y el  restante, a  los 20 días después del  trasplante  (ddt), en  los dos casos  la aplicación fue edáfica, y el AG3  se aplicó vía foliar a  los 20 ddt. Las plantas se cosecharon a  los 80 ddt y se midieron variables de rendimiento en nueve plantas por tratamiento. Se encontraron diferencias significativas en la altura de plantas, área foliar, masa fresca y seca e índice de área foliar, se obtuvo mayor producción con 90 kg ha-1  de calcio y 0 mg L-1
 de AG3 , mientras que las giberelinas aplicadas a los 20 ddt causaron desórdenes en el fenotipo y no aumentaron el rendimiento de la lechuga.
