The independences (revolutions) in Ibero-America, still in a labyrinth?

Abstract

The history and historiography of the revolutionary processes of Latin American independence constituted one of the most relevant events of the first half of the 19 th century to explain universal contemporary history. However, they have been omitted in most textbooks and teaching guides of universities in the western world. This work not only intends to reclaim their importance in universal contemporary history but also explain said omission, its roots and the evolution and pertinence of this topic at academic, ideological and political levels throughout the second half of the 20 th century.
