Sacred spatiality: popular devotion to Santa Raimunda, soul of Bom Sucesso

Abstract
Santa Raimunda do Bom Sucesso is a popular religious reference for the residents of the Amazon rainforest, especially the town of Bom Sucesso, Icuriã seringal, in the “Chico Mendes” Extractive Reserve. The objective of this work is to present the motivations and stimuli for permanence in the territory, as well as the links of people with the space, through social markers that configure sacred spatiality and build social relationships. Cultural manifestations in the historical context of territorialization in the region, in the face of the infinite shortcomings that individuals experience, are used as tools to survive, resist and redefine their lives in the face of different difficulties and new spatiality, and therefore seek to rely on popular beliefs. The research is geographical and relies on other areas of science for theoretical organization, such as anthropology and history, while phenomenology is the immersive path to understanding the phenomenon of popular devotion in relation to community dynamics. As a result, it is observed that popular devotions are an essential element in the processes of social organization in the jungle.
