Cineforos y educación intercultural

Abstract

The aim of this article is to situate the cineforum as a strategy for intercultural education in school contexts.  Through this work we want to show the practical findings of the cineforum in the analysis of films with a historical and ethnocultural component, in order to develop students' critical abilities in the face of discrimination issues. The main results of this research reveal a high influence of the family and cultural context, as well as various prejudices and stereotypes that revolve around diversity. The reproduction of cinematographic quotations through pedagogical strategies such as the cineforum allows the creation of environments of dialogue, reflection and mobilization of emotions, which mediated by the teacher can mean in new educational environments, a space of respect, tolerance and democracy.
