Focus and scope
Praxis & Saber is a peer-reviewed open-access scientific journal that releases four issues annually (per volume). It is interdisciplinary in nature, and its purpose is to disseminate original research, review, and reflection articles that contribute to the consolidation of the educational and pedagogical field. Praxis & Saber convenes high-level national and international researchers who focus on analyzing and understanding the complexity of contemporary educational realities. The specific fields in which the journal publishes papers are:
- Education: explores studies on educational theories, educational sciences, philosophy of education, and educational policies.
- Pedagogy: covers teacher training, students, schools, interdisciplinarity in education, curriculum, and evaluation.
- Didactics: deals with didactic methodologies, teaching and learning techniques, and innovative teaching tools and resources.
All manuscripts in the journal are selected through a "double-blind" evaluation system, in which active researchers and expert reviewers in each subject participate. The journal, due to its scientific nature, is aimed at researchers, university professors, undergraduate and graduate students, and any reader who wants to be informed about recent research and current discussions regarding the disciplines covered by the journal. It has open access through the Internet, so that anyone interested in its topics can disseminate, consult, cite and reference it.
The journal offers two participation options for authors:
- Through monographic texts with specific topics and pre-determined submission deadlines.
- Through the research and pedagogy section, which receives articles focused on education, pedagogy, and didactics in general.
The reception of these items is open throughout the year.
Praxis & Saber publishes its immediate open-access articles in PDF, EPUB, HTML, and XML formats, but under the diamond model, that is, it does not charge its authors for publishing in any of the phases of the publication process (no Article Processing Charges - No APC) since it is fully financed by the Editorial of the Pedagogical and Technological University of Colombia (UPTC) and co-published by the Master’s in Education program.
