Abstract

This article outlines some aspects of interest contained in the doctoral research “Cultural Processes and Configuration of Subjectivities of Teachers at a Colombian University between 1970 and 2017”. The study was situated within the field of cultural studies, employing a biographical narrative approach as its framework. The study addresses the configuration of the subjectivities of twelve participating teachers, whose data was analyzed according to these three categories: Cultural Processes, Subjectivities, and Hegemony. These categories allow for a better understanding of the teachers’ experiences, feelings, tensions, struggles, relationships, and resistance to power and change. The study highlights the value of recognition and self-identity for these teachers since they are not only seen as educators but also as trainers who play a crucial role in molding individuals who will contribute meaningfully to society. Furthermore, the article discusses the teacher’s voice, their self-perception, their environment, and their emotions towards institutional, social, and cultural dynamics.
