Estratégias de leitura e desempenho acadêmico na transição para a educação superior

Resumo

A transição para a universidade é um processo de adaptação muito complexo que desafia as instituições a conceberem mecanismos para promover a assistência a longo prazo dos estudantes até a sua graduação. Esta pesquisa visa contribuir para a compreensão do uso de
estratégias de leitura e sua relação com o sucesso acadêmico dos estudantes durante a transição para a educação superior. A metodologia é quantitativa, com uma amostra não probabilística intencional de 145 voluntários: estudantes de ensino médio de escolas com um alto índice de
vulnerabilidade e estudantes de uma universidade pública da Região de Valparaíso no Chile, através da implementação de um instrumento. Entre os principais resultados, pode-se observar
que os grupos de estudantes de ensino médio e universitário diferem significativamente no tipo e no uso de estratégias de leitura, as quais estão direta e significativamente correlacionadas com
o desempenho acadêmico e são relevantes porque o uso de estratégias diferentes afeta o nível de leitura dos estudantes com baixo desempenho acadêmico, especialmente no ensino médio.
